von Dj Jess the Lezz („Girls like us“ Magazine)

Stutter – Elastica (Geffen)

Return to guitars after house overdose and ongoing crush on Justine Frishmann, singer of the band.

Deceptation – Le Tigre (Mr. Lady)

Bikini Kill on beats, plus a touch of nice moustache. Second round of jumping.

Walking On Thin Ice [1981 re-edit]–
Yoko Ono (Strut)

I’m afraid Yoko Ono excells at a lot of things, can’t beat this one.

AA XXX – Peaches (Kitty-Yo)

Very DIY, very minimal and yet sounds like a monster.

Try Again – Aaliyah (Blackground Records)

About the dead, nothing but good. Really wish she could try again. Looking at the above list, I think it’s all women who I have the hots for in some ways. And in their own way, they’re all very inspirational as well. And make killer music!

Jess the Lezz is the DJ moniker of Jessica Gysel.

Together with Kathrin Hero she made 5 issues of GLU (Girls Like Us) magazine so far. GLU is a lesbian quarterly concocted in Amsterdam and distributed worldwide. Highs so far: being on set of the L Word, getting lots of fanmail, slutting all over under the excuse of ‘research’ and being invited for things like this.
